While substantially more feature-laden than Vue d'Esprit with an amazingly rich (and obscure) user interface, the terrain results are just not quite to the level of those produced by Vue d'Esprit. However, it does offer excellent object rendering, nice water and sky generators, and impressive animation support. Still, if terrains are your thing, I recommend sticking with Vue d'Esprit -- it offers a simpler and more intuitive user interface and, with an upgrade coming out, is becoming even more powerful.

For terrains, Vue is better. For objects, POV-Ray is better. For a combination, POV-Ray is also better. Thus, I've removed most of the pictures which were in this gallery.

thumbnail Blimp : This was my first success at importing an object from Ray Dream Studio 5 using the OBJ format. This is yet another example of a "deserted isle" rendering.
